Innovation and automation require a strong IT foundation
Sobinco is a leading family-run business specialising in hardware for aluminium windows. From their new campus in Zulte, more than 350 employees produce around 56 million components annually. To further support their strong focus on automation and innovation, Sobinco invested in a modern and scalable IT and OT infrastructure.
With highly automated and robotised CNC machines, it became crucial to develop a network architecture that is not only high-performing and flexible, but also guarantees maximum cybersecurity.

The challenge: keeping IT and OT secure and manageable
Their rapid growth of automation created a need for a clear separation between the IT and OT networks. Sobinco wanted to regain greater control and ownership of its own infrastructure, without adding additional pressure on the internal IT team.
To achieve this, they were looking for a partner who could not only supply technology, but above all help them develop the right long-term approach.
The Nomios approach
Nomios started the project with an in-depth workshop and analysis of the existing environment. Together with Sobinco’s security and IT teams, the needs, risks and opportunities were identified. Based on this, Nomios developed a roadmap following the Guardian approach: a modular and future-oriented strategy that focuses on both current and future needs. The implementation included network segmentation, a new Wi-Fi solution, NAC (Network Access Control), an upgrade of the firewall environment, endpoint security with EDR, SIEM for event correlation and monitoring, and 24/7 SOC monitoring through Nomios Guardian.
Thanks to this integrated approach, Sobinco now has a secure, scalable and manageable infrastructure that is ready for further growth and automation.
A partnership built on trust
For Sobinco, it was the collaboration that really made the difference. Not just the technology, but also the way Nomios thinks with them and listens to the organisation’s real needs.
